Somatic Psychotherapy in California
Adults, Teens, and Couples
Hi, my name is Antonia (she/her)
I’m an queer Oakland native passionate about creating affirming spaces where people can feel deeply seen, supported, and connected to themselves. Growing up in a culturally rich and diverse community shaped my belief that our stories, identities, histories, and heritage are central to the work of healing—and that each person’s experience is best understood through compassion, context, and thoughtful curiosity.
While I specialize in Somatic Therapy, my approach is always tailored to the unique needs of each client. I draw from a blend of modalities—IFS, mindfulness, Hakomi, psychodynamic theory, attachment work, liberation psychology and trauma-informed practices—to meet you where you are and support the kind of healing that feels authentic and sustainable for you.
What is Somatic Therapy?
To me, Somatic Therapy entails helping people reconnect with their bodies through presence and gentle awareness. It involves noticing sensations, images, emotions, and impulses, and slowly expanding our capacity to stay with these experiences rather than override them. Over time, this allows us to understand what our bodies are trying to communicate—what needs attention, what feels overwhelming, and what is longing to be expressed. Somatic work helps us slow down enough to soften the barriers between mind and body, so we can become our own healers, keepers, and safe places to land.
“I look back at the growth that’s occurred in these last months of working with Antonia and feel a deep well of gratitude. I experience it in the way my tears flow more freely, my relationships feel more aligned, and my voice feels more open.” - client
